Bernard Brommer is past President of the Minnesota AFL-CIO, having served in that elected office from 1990 to 2001. He previously served in the office of Executive Vice President from 1979 to 1985 when he was elected Secretary-Treasurer where he served until his election as President. Mr. Brommer began his work career as an hourly laborer with the Minnesota Highway Department. He became a Staff Representative for the Minnesota State and University Employees Union, AFSCME Council 6, AFL-CIO, in 1970 and served as its Executive Director from 1977 to 1979. He then was elected Executive Vice President of the Minnesota AFL-CIO in 1979. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of DeCare International and the Delta Dental Plan of Minnesota. He is serving on the Executive Board of the Minnesota State Retirees Council, AFL-CIO. He has extensive past experience on various public and private boards, commissions, and advisory committees. |
