William D. Fritts, Jr.

Bill has been a SISF Trustee since 1994. He is currently Executive Vice President of Conesco, a financial services company. Prior to that, Bill was Executive Vice President of the Property Casualty Insurers. He has served as managing partner of Interest Strategies Group, a public affairs consulting firm with a specialization in the financial services/insurance industry.

Mr. Fritts' experience in Government Relations and Public Affairs spans several decades. He has held the position of Senior Vice President of External Affairs at ING Americas. His Minnesota ties run deep, having served as Vice President of Government Affairs at ReliaStar Financial Corporation from 1994 to 2000. Bill also served as Chief of Staff in Minnesota for Senator Dave Durenberger from 1993 to 1994. Prior to that he served as Counselor to the Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and as Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce, and held various positions in federal agencies. He has served on numerous boards and commissions. He was appointed by President George W. Bush as a Delegate to the 2002 National Summit on Retirement Savings. He has served on numerous local boards and commissions including Compete St. Paul, a mayoral advisory panel on privatization of city services. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Chemistry.
