Brian Rotty has held the position of Director, Recovery and Claims Services of Mayo Foundation since 1992. In addition, he is an attorney practicing in the areas of subrogation and third party recovery, insurance defense, ERISA law and employee benefits.

Since 1994 he has served with the Staff Judge Advocate, United States Army National Guard, currently as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, 34th Infantry Division. He began his career as an underwriter for various companies prior to joining the Mayo Foundation. He previously served as Committee Chairperson for "Insurance for Members Committee" of the Minnesota Bar Association, a member of the Governance and Financial Committee of the Minnesota Bar Association and as President and Program Director of the Twin Cities Underwriters Association. He is a graduate of William Mitchell College of Law and St. John's University with a Bachelor of Science degree, a major in biology and a minor in business administration.
